Sorrells Farms comprises over 1200 acres of sandy farm land in the heart of Texas, Comanche County. Since 1977 Sorrells Farms have been major suppliers of pecans, watermelons, cantaloupes, tomatoes, jalapenos, and peaches to the wholesale markets. Owner Kinley Sorrells and son Gayland, who serve currently or have been board members of the Texas Pecan Growers Association and the Texas Pecan Board, strive daily to offer high quality pecans and produce for your summer, fall, and winter enjoyment.

The Sorrells’ operation is fast-paced and constant. The year begins with winter trimming and pruning. Grafting and vegetable planting occupies the spring, and vegetable harvest, irrigation and tree care round out the summer. Finally, the big push of pecan harvest fills the fall. Then the cycle starts all over again. Kinley is a 1973 graduate of Mason High School. After graduating from Tarleton State University, he move to Comanche area where he managed a commercial pecan operation. When the previous owners dissolved their partnership, Kinley realized his long-term goal of becoming an orchard owner.

Kinley resides in Comanche, Texas with his wife Delinda. He is deacon at Eastside Baptist Church in Comanche, a member of the Texas Pecan Growers Association, and serves on the Ag Texas Board of Directors. Gayland is a 1996 graduate of Comanche High School. He graduated from Tarleton State University in 2000 and joined his father full time on the farm. He purchased his first 70 acre orchard in 2003 and has served on the Texas Pecan Growers Board.

Gayland also resides in Comanche, Texas with his wife Tami and their three sons, Taelon, Pierson, and Kylan. Gayland began his work in the orchards and melon fields early on. His dad will tell you Gayland always knew this is what he wanted to do. Gayland graduated from Comanche High in 1996 and Tarleton State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness in May of 2000. He has a love for the orchard and growing pecans. Gayland and Tami are high school sweethearts. Tami graduated from Comanche High in 1995 and Tarleton State University with a BBA in Accounting in December of 1999. Tami obtained her CPA license a few years later. Tami manages the retail location as well as handles the wholesale shelled pecan side of the business. They are actively involved in their community, their church, and enjoy chasing their three boys around. Taelon is a sophomore at Baylor University, Pierson is a Sophomore at Comanche High, and Kylan is a 1st Grader in Comanche.

Meet Kinley and Delinda,

Kinley reside in Comanche with his wife, Delinda. They have three children and total of seven grandchildren. Their son, Gayland and his wife Tami both work fulltime for the farm operation. Their daughter Kayla lives in Comanche, Texas. Their daughter Kimberly and her husband, Jeramie, live in Comanche, Texas. While they adore their children, their seven grandchildren, Taelon, Pierson, Mackinzie, Kamden, Braxton, Kylan, and Kesslar are their pride and joy! Kinley and Delinda are both graduates of Tarleton State University. He is a deacon at Eastside Baptist Church and a member of Texas Pecan Growers Association. He also serves on various water boards and Ag Texas board of directors. Kinley founded and operates Sorrells Farms. He is a sun up to sun down kind of man. You can find him daily around the orchard and in the summer months picking a good tasty watermelon. Delinda has recently retired but still serves an important role in advising and helping when needed at the store. Both Kinley and Delinda lead their family to put God first and lean on Him in all their ways.

Meet Gayland and Tami,

Gayland resides in Comanche with his wife, Tami and their three sons, Taelon, Pierson, and Kylan. Gayland purchased his first 70 acre orchard soon after graduating from Tarleton State and joining his dad full time at the farm. Gayland has worked on the farm most of his life and manages the farm’s daily operations alongside his father. Gayland and his dad operate a small cow calf operation and finish out the hot summer with farm fresh produce. Tami manages the retail operations, wholesale accounts, and office duties of the farm. You can find her most days at the store busy promoting pecans or stocking their retail location. Taelon and Pierson work on the farm in the summer months picking and loading melons. It makes for a long summer, but they are learning to continue a legacy, put before and taught to them. A legacy of hard work, humble attitude, and most importantly a Christ like love for people.
