The farm is wrapping up harvest and preparing the pecans for shelling or to be sold in the inshell pecan market. 2018 was a year to remember or maybe forget. Limited rainfall during the growing season truly made the crop deteriorate in quantity and in some areas quality. We are fortunate to have some good quality by the grace of God. When the rains began in September it made harvest hard and some days almost impossible to get into the orchard. The orchards floors are probably the wettest we have seen. Now with harvest behind us, we begin to focus on orchard care, selling pecans, and prepare our land for produce season. We are one of the few farms you will find that are in harvest mode of different crops we grow about 9-10 months out of the year. We will talk again soon friends!
